There was a seminar “Wooden construction
of multin-floor buildings” in Helsinki. Seminar was organized by BIZKON
(Kotka, Turku) and finnish company “Woodfocus”. There were more than 20
directory and specialists from Saint- Petersburg (RUST, REMIS, Garagnoe
stroitelstvo, Center of anti-fire safety, Russian Museum, e.t.c.). The questions
concerning the increasing in Russia of this kind constructions were discussed.
There were also the visits on some firms and wooden constructions in Helsinki
and in Turku. Next meeting was agreed in SPb 25-28.03.04. on the exhibition
“Cottage. Teplovent”. |
October 30- November 01, 2003

BIZKON organized the business program in Anjalankoski
(region Kymenlaakso) for the participants of SPb exhibition and Forum (New
chemical Technologies). There were more than 30 members of delegation from
different regions of Russia (Saint- Petersburg, Norilsk, Moscow, Iaroslavl,
Apatity, e.t.c.) and from other countries Baltii and SNG (Belarus, Estonia,
Uzbekistan). The main subject of the program – Treatment, storage and Utilization
of Hard everyday and industry Wastes. This program included the seminar
(finnish presentation of the new technologies) and also the visits to the
polygons, experimental centers, Stora Enso paper plant and others. There
must be close cooperation between South Finland and North –West Russia in
this direction. Next meeting will be held in spring 2004. |
October 15-17, 2003 |
There was a russian - finnish seminar concerning
shipping, shipbuilding and ecology. This seminar was coinced with 135-Universary
Maritime Department of Kymenlaakso Polytechnik. There were presented many
interesting subjects. There were the chief specialists from SPb (Admiralteiskie
Verfi, Prometey, port Primorsk, JSC Experimentalny Zavod e.t.c.) and from
Finland (Kverner Masa Yards, VTT, Environment Centers e.t.c.). |
September 25-26, 2003 |
There was a seminar (REPNET – project) in Kotka
(CT-Centre). The Russian participants of this project presented some results
on the next stage of this project. Mr. V. Krylov, deputy of the Chairman
Building Committee, and Mr. M. Korolev, director of Moscow district Agency,
introduced of SPb delegation. They received from architect Mr. P. Strandman
the calculations concerning to the cost of reconstruction (building on Lensoveta,
70). The part of historical building’s restouration (Pavlovsky GMZ) was
introduced by the chief specialists of GIOP, Spectprojectrestouration and
JSC Karment. |

There was a seminar Development of employer
activities between Finland and Russia. This seminar took place in the hall
“Panorama” of Hotel “Sovetskaia”. The seminar was organized by Kotka – Hamina
Region of Finland together with BIZKON – Kotka and BIZKON – St.- Petersburg.
There were more than 50 managers and specialists, which were interested
in different questions: opening enterprise in Finland, marketing, rights
for the work in Finland, financing, taxes and others. Executive director
of Kymenlaakso Region Tapio Valinoro, director of Kotka – Hamina Region
Ltd. JukkaVakava, export specialist Ilkka Lampinen, chief of the OKO BANK
Department Kari Tolvanen and others answered on the numerous questions.
General consul of Finland in St.- Petersburg Kauko Jamsen organized the
reception in Finnish Consulate for the participants of the seminar. |

There was a presentation of the INTERREG program
“Gateway office partners” in London. The place of the presentation was selected
not by chance: second St.- Petersburg business-centre (after BIZCON) “Petersburg
– London – 2203” was opened in London in October 1999. This project was
created by the group of the lawyers, book- keepers, bank managers, marketing
managers from Kymenlaakso province (Kotka-Hamina Region of Finland Ltd.).
These specialists and also the Chief representative of BIZKON visited London.
The aim of this visit was to make the acquaintance of the English colleagues
with this project. It is possible to unite the efforts of English, Finnish
and Russian specialists for developing of all businesses. It may be also
as a subject of the future joint TACIS project. |
April 23-24, 2003 |
There was a presentation of the Finnish company
Polimoon (Turku) in Shuvalovsky Palace in St.- Petersburg. This presentation
was organized by JSC “BIZKON”. Holding Polimoon company was a very famous
international plastic producer (also in Germany, Belgium, Estonia e.t.c.).
There were more than 40 directors and specialists of St.- Petersburg enterprises
on this on this presentation. The directors of Finnish Polimoon visited
also some St.- Petersburg plastic producers (Prestige, Zavod Plastmass,
Zavod Komsomolskoi Pravdy. Progress) and also they had some discussions
with legal company “Kachkin and Partners”. After this presentation, talks
and visits Holding Polimoon will pass the decision about the creation of
the producing Polimoon’s department in St.- Petersburg. |
March 10-13, 2003 |
There was “Shipping and ecology seminar” on
“Silja Symphony”. The representatives of 20 SPb enterprises took participant
in this event (Prometey, Morelectroradiocomplect, Korablestroenie (Moscow),
Polyinform, zavod Krizo, Severnaya verf, Agrovit and others. Also more than
20 representatives from Kotka, Turku, Lappeenranta, Helsinki took participant
in this seminar. The main questions of the seminar are new problems of ice
and ecology situations in Finnish Gulf. The great interest was displayed
to the report, concerning an hard ice situation and the ways of it decision
(chief of ice laboratory CNIIMF L. Coi) and the report concerning the new
problems connecting with the bio-soiling of Baltic water from oil-tankers
(professor of Helsinki university and the chief of South Finland environment
Centre Pentti Valipakka). |

Centre “BIZKON” was presented on the special
exhibition “Cottage. Teplovent” in SKK “Petersburgski” (SPb). There were
represented some BIZKON’s participants on BIZKON stand: JSC “RUST”, (few
– floor buildings), JSC “Scientific Innovative Centre of Construction &
Fire Safety”, JSC “Energ” (new technologies in metal construction production),
TVT- Moscow (glue wooden constructions). |

There was a seminar “Development of SPb business-centres
abroad and their role in development of SPb enterprises activities”. This
seminar took place in Hotel “Sovetskaia”. There were 35 Chiefs of BIZKON
participants, representatives of SPb Committee of Foreign Affairs and also
more them 15 Finnish representatives (Kotka, Turku, Lappeenranta). Finnish
consul in SPb Aarno Kartunen told about the development of Russian-Finnish
cooperation and about the Finnish finance support of more important joint
projects in 2003 year. Deputy of the Chief of Economic Cooperation Department
Mr. K. Avdeev informed about the increasing of SPb business-centre net abroad
about their unit information system (Commetee of Foreign Affairs support
now the business-centres in Finland-BIZKON, in London, in Berlin, in Chine,
e.t.c.). Chief manager of BIZKON-Turku Kirsti Pakkala told about BIZKON-Turku
activity and also about the BIZKON’s participation in Turku Days in St.-
Petersburg (June 10-15, 2003). A. Varshavsky (Chief representative of BIZKON
- St.- Petersburg) and Y. Ardatov (general director of SPb Development Agency
Sparrit) informed about some results and plans BIZKON – St.- Petersburg
and also about new joint projects in TACIS program. |
