Finland, Kotka – Imatra BIZKON organized the visit of the Spb
enterprise representatives for the acquaintance with the business activities of
South Karelia
(region of South East Finland).
The representatives (~ 20 persons) from Giprohim-Technolog,
Agrovit, Rust, Remmontagstroj, Rerih Fond, KM-Neva and others took part in this
visit. The main subjects for the meetings and discussions were:
-small
bioenergy plants
-collection
and treatment of solid wastes
-water
tourism in
Saimensky Canal
-small
wooden construction
-possible
joint projects for the Neughbourhood Programme
Mayor of Imatra Mr. Pertti Lintunen organized the
reception for the delegation. |

There was a big seminar
concerning the development of Russian-Estonian Cultural Tourism. The
representatives of the Russian partners of the project “CulTurism” (Committee
of External Affairs Spb and LIC BIZKON) had the reports on this seminar.
The main aim of this
russioan-estonian project is to assist in developing of Russian-estonian
tourism by researching and advertising about cultural places and cultural
events in North-West Estonia (IDA-Virumaa region) and in Spb and in Lenoblast. Russian-estonian Collection about cultural
events on two sides of the border will be published in January 2007 on the
first stage of the project. This project will be developed on
South
Finland
in future. |

November, Yuvaskyla It was an acquaintance with the activities
of this region. BIZKON together with Centre Yukes organized the seminar
and some visits to Yuvaskyla enterprises. This seminar was joined with other
seminar concerning finnish-russian project “Gateway Office Partners” (BIZKON
was a coordinator of this project). There were discussed some questions
concerning possible partnership with SPb enterprises. Deputy general director
of the exhibition company “RESTEC” Leonid Zakharenkov presented the future
International Technic Fair which will take place in SPb in March 2007 year.
There were more than 20 persons in SPb delegation. Mayor of Yuvaskyla Markku
Anderson recepted SPb delegation. |

November, Turku There was a big seminar concerning shipbuilding
and shipping in Baltic Sea.
More than 50 finnish participants from Turku, Helsinki, Kotka took part
in this event. There were reports from Aker Jards, Deltamarin, Subcontracting
Centre, CNIIME and others. The main direction of this seminar were the development
of subcontracting and new possible future Baltic project “Inter Ice Ship”
(Arctic Shipbuilding). Discussion of this project was an most important
subject during this event. Academician Igor Gorynin (Prometey), deputy chairman
of Russian Technic-Scientist Society Leonid Promyslov and icebreaker laboratory
chief Lori Coi offered the Russian conception of this project.. Discussion
of this project will be continued in future year. The main aim of this project
is to develop the cooperation in innovations. |
October 19-20 , 2006
Kotka, Helsinki, Anjalankoski, Kouvola This visit was organized
by BIZKON according with the plan which was supported by Committee of Foreign
Affairs. There were the directors and chief specialists of Saint-Petersburg
ecological and waste treatment companies in Saint-Petersburg delegation
(LenTISIZ, Lenvodproject, Prometey, Giprochim-Technolog, Express, Travers,
Tosno Polygon and others). There were following events during this visit:
- meeting in Einco Co. (burning chambers for the wastes); - visit to the
"Environment and wastes" exhibition in Helsinki; - seminar in Anjalankoski
concerning finnish-russian ECOPARK-project (BIZKON is a coordinator of this
project); - meeting in Environment Centre in Kouvola; - meeting in Kouvola
Administration (questions concerning municipal services). There were more
than 20 persons in Saint-Petersburg delegation. |

16-17, 2006
Saint-Petersburg BIZKON together with Saint-Petersburg Maritime
Board organized the visit of Finnish representatives (16 persons - fleet
veterans, port managers, yacht club chief e.t.c.). Committee of Foreign
Affairs also took part in the organization of this event. The aims of this
visit: - participation in conference of the veteran-miners (cleaning of
Finnish Gulf after the World War II); - discussion of the Protocol of the
joint actions (maritime history, water tourism, yacht festivals, Partnership
between Maritime museums e.t.c.). Deputy of General Consul of Finnish Consulat
Mr. Joutsen greeted of the meeting participants. There were also the visits
to icebreaker-museum "Krasin" and to the vessel "Aurora". The conference
was spent in Scientist House on Neva and discussion ("round table") was
organized in Maritime Board House. There were more than 80 Saint-Petersburg
representatives took part in these" Saint-Petersburg Maritime days". |

4-6 , 2006 Finland There was a visit of SPb delegation to
Finland. There were the directors and chief specialists of the design and
construction companies - members of BIZKON. The aims of this visit are to
have acquaintance with the news in wooden cottage construction (in Kotka)
and also to visit Exhibition "Finn Build" (in Helsinki). There were organized
also some private meetings and talks with some finnish partners (BIZKON
agreed these meetings preliminary). There was organized also the special
meeting in Kotka Eagle Group company (president - Hannu Laitila). The aim
of this meeting is to find the possibilities for the partnership between
SPb and finnish companies in Saint-Petersburg and Finland (in construction
fields). More than 20 SPb specialists were in delegation (RUST,Remmontadgstroy,
Nakma, Projectservice, Novaia Era and others). |

8, 2006. Saint-Petersburg BIZKON (together with PBL-Holding
Company) organized the tourist seminar in Estonian Consulat in Saint-Petersburg.
This seminar was spended for Saint-Petersburg's tourist companies registrated
in Estonian Consulat (more than 100 companies). The aim of this seminar
was to analyze the situation and development of russian tourism to Estonia.
General Consul Lauri Bambus and Consul Marie Masa told about increasing
quantities of russian tourists to Estonia. Spa-Hotels became most popular
for tourists of the different kinds. Representatives of Ida-Virumaa and
Laane-Virumaa provinces Tarmo Pajo and Erika Paabus told about new estonian-russian
project concerning of cultural tourism. There was a big interest to the
information about reconstruction of the pansionat "Noorus" in Narva-Jesuu.
It will be the big tourist-health complex with Spa Hotel. This complex will
be opened in 2008 year. Such new complexes will assistance "the development
of Baltic tourist triangle" (Estonia, Finland, Saint-Petersburg, and Lenoblast). |

29 – September 01, 2006. Saint-Petersburg Centre BIZKON
has organized the visit to St.Petersburg for the small delegation of the
agricultural entrepreneurs of the Laane-Viru and Ida-Virumaa regions of
Estonia on the exhibition "AGRORUS". The farms specialists and manufacturers
of the equipment and forages for farms interested in the development of
cooperation with St.-Petersburg and the Leningrad area were included in
this delegation. The meetings with the representatives of the Luga social-business
centre and Committee on agriculture of the Leningrad region took place during
the Exhibition. The Estonian experts also have visited the Breeding factory
"RUCHII", where they have got acquainted with the activity of the swine-breeding
farm and have discussed the opportunities and aspects of the biogas equipment. |

July 3-7, 2006 27 yachts from Turku and Kotka visited SPb.
It was a first visit when so many finnish yachts arrived in SPb at the same
time. Preparation of this visit was begun after September last year when
SPb Days in Turku were spent. All organization activities were spent together
with SPb Committee of External Affairs by BIZKON and by maritime tourism
section of SPb Maritime Council (A. Berezkin). All finnish yacht's men on
press-conference 04.07.06. told about their satisfaction by the organization
of this visit and by significant "new yacht parking" near pavilion 7 Lenexpo. |

29, 2006 There was a meeting devoted to 7 Anniversary of
BIZKON (first BIZKON was opened by Governor of SPb in June 1999). SPb Committee
of External Affairs supported this event. This meeting took place on the
board ship "Astra" (trip along the Neva). There were presented some results
of preceding activities and some events on second part of 2006. There were
many private discussions between BIZKON participants. Marina Golovko, official
representative in SPb of Juvaskula region, was invited also. Some future
events in Finland will be spent together (Turku, Kotka, Juvaskula). |

13-17, 2006 The big SPb delegation of BIZKON participants
(more than 30 persons) visited Turku for the annual "European Day of the
Entrepreneur" (EDE-2006). There were several discussion directions (sections):
maritime technologies, municipal services, wooden construction, ecology
and bio-energy. All these topics were interesting for all visitors. Many
private talks and conversations were organized also by BIZKON-Turku according
with SPb participant's wishes. |

8, 2006 BIZKON was one of the organizers of the information
seminar "How is it possible to create own business in Finland?" This seminar
took place in Leningrad oblast trade-industry chamber. The main organizer
was Development Agency Kotka-Hamina "Cursor" and project "Gateway office
partners". There were considered the following questions: - registration
of the enterprises; - permissions for work; - taxes; - open the account
in Finnish bank, e.t.c. There were 12 directors of SPb companies - BIZKON
participants (Techservice, Fenix-Holding, Greenside, PBL-Holding, Autotransport
technologies, Absolut, e.t.c.). |

21-23, 2006 Centre BIZKON together with St.Petersburg Committee
for External Relations has organized the visit of St.Petersburg business
delegation on Business Forum in Bordeaux, France. This Forum took place
during the International Annual Exhibition - Fair of Bordeaux. Vice-governor
of St.Petersburg Mr. Lobko V. has headed the official delegation from St.Petersburg.
The representatives of St.Petersburg enterprises interested in development
of International contacts took part in the business-meetings organized by
Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bordeaux: REMMONTAJSTROY (construction),
EUROCOM (shipping), KOSMOS (ecology), PRAKTIK (low services), REPROM (travel
company), NOU DO MCPK (education, skill upgrading) and others. |

19-20, 2006 BIZKON SPb and BIZKON-Kotka organized the seminar
and meeting in Kotka. The seminar was devoted to the history of Finnish
Gulf mine cleaning. More than 100 finnish veterans visited this seminar.
Admiral V. Ivanov was a chairman of the Russian delegation (8 persons).
The protocol concerning joint activities was sign by Maritime Board of SPb
and Kotka Administration. These activities are following: - meetings of
maritime veterans; - joint seminars; - joint efforts in creation of the
new Finnish Maritime Museum in Kotka; - reception of finnish yachts and
motor-boats in SPb; - preparation the "Winter Days" event in May, 2007,
e.t.c. |

18 , 2006 BIZKON organized a visit a big official delegation
from Turku in Smolny. Chiefs and specialists of TAD-Centre (economic development
of region) were met in Smolny by the Deputy Chairman of Committee for External
Relations I. Lonsky and by the Chief of Economic Department of this Committee
E. Beliakova. Mr. Kalle Euro, chief of the finnish delegation and the director
of TAD-Centre, told about economic development of South-West finnish region.
He represented three more important economic lines: maritime technologies,
ecology, logistic. These lines will be as the leaders of the European Day
of the Entrepreneur EDE-2006 which will be spent in Turku 14 -15 June. Mr.
Kalle Euro invited of the Committee representatives and SPb entrepreneurs
to take part in this Day. SPb Centre BIZKON-Turku will be as organizer of
all events on EDE - 2006. |

May, 2006 Centre BIZKON has organized the visit of the Estonian
delegation for the agricultural entrepreneurs from Estonian regions Laane-Viru
and Ida-Viru in St.-Petersburg and Leningrad area. During this visit the
meetings with the Luga entrepreneurs, with the representatives of Farmers
Union and Leningrad regional agency for SME support were held. The Estonian
specialists have visited also St.Petersburg Exhibition Firm "SIVEL". They
have discussed the possible future (autumn 2006) Exhibition-Fair of the
Estonian goods. |

25-26, 2006 Toila, Estonia
There was a Russian-Estonian-Finnish Partneriat (seminar, work-shops, visits).
There were 22 managers and chief specialists in SPb delegation (Fenix Group,
PBL, Ellien, Maritime Council, ISTA, Rerih collections and others). There
were also five finnish representatives from South-East Finland. This Partneriat
took place in Hotel Toila in North-East Estonia. General council of Estonia
Mr. Lauri Bombus in SPb, Finnish ambassador in Estonia Mr. Jakko Kalela
and Russian council in Narva Mr. Nikolay Bondarenko took part in this event.
Chairman of Kohtla-Jarve parlament Mr. V. Korb and Major of Kohtla-Jarve
Mr. E. Soloviev were, as main organizers of the Partneriat. There were discussed
the problems for the business development in our “small triangle of growth”
(SPb, Lenoblast, North-East Estonia and South-East Finland. There were considered
also some possible future joint projects (water tourism, industry zones,
ecology studies, e.t.c.).The participants visited also new part in Sillamae
and some other objects. All sides of this event decided to spend similar
“Joint Entrepreneur Day” every year. |

April 18-20, 2006 There was a finnish-russian seminar in
SPb Committee of Transport and Transit Politics (seminar was organized by
logistic group BIZKON). There were 8 finnish persons from South-East Finland,
some finnish specialists from Helsinki and Turku and also Estonian representatives
(Estonian specialists presented the project of Sillamae port development
and also they presented the new transport - passenger ship line Kotka- Sillamae).
There were discussed the following topics on this seminar: - possible participation
of the finnish specialists in construction of SPb ring road; - studies in
logistics; - new joint projects. Seminar participants visited also EuroSib
transport terminal. |

28, 2006 It was spent finnish-russian seminar in municipal
service activities. This seminar was organized together with consulting
firm "Vybor". It was a great interest to the RATU-cards which were presented
by Finnish side. These cards are as technical instructions for the different
jobs in construction, reconstruction and repair. Finnish specialists offered
to prepare similar cards for the municipal service works. This information
aroused great interest in russian specialists. These cards will be translated
in Russian by Finnish side. There were 7 finnish and 13 russian specialists
on this seminar. |

20-23, 2006 BIZKON organized the visit to Severodvinsk of
the Shipbuilding working group participants (12 Finnish specialists). This
visit was organized according with the wishes of Finnish side. Enterprises
of Severodvinsk (Zvezdochka and Sevmash) are the main subcontractors of
Finland in ice breaker's construction. So the questions concerning cooperation
and partnership were discussed. The finnish specialists visited also some
objects in Arhangelsk. It is possible that new Technopark with Saint-Petersburg,
Severodvinsk, Turku and Helsinki will be created in future. |

14-16, 2006 There was a participation in International Ecology
Forum in Lenexpo (exhibition "Waste management technologies and equipment"
and conference). These events were spent in Ecopark-project activities (BIZKON
is a russian coordinator of this project). Many Russian specialists visited
the stand ECOPARK. Some chief finnish participants of Ecopark-project took
part in these events. There were discovered many new problems where must
be solved in Ecopark-project in 2006-2007. |

with “Greenside” Company organized the meeting for the specialists of State
enterprise for parks and gardens of St.Petersburg concerning the use of
special color chips of Finnish company “FINNVERDE” for the accomplishment

9-10, 2006 Economic development Corporation of Jyvaskyla
region and "JYKES Ltd" held the Forum of the European companies in the field
of metal working, machinery and automation in Jyvaskyla, Finland within
the European project "Fit for Europe". Delegation of St.-Petersburg was
formed by St.-Petersburg Business Contact Centre BIZKON at support of St.Petersburg
Government Committee for external relations. More than 70 representatives
from Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, Czechia and Finland took part in
this Forum. The delegation of St.-Petersburg included 10 chiefs of small
and middle firms interested in the international contacts in this branch
(Subcontacting Centre, REPROM, TNP, Sevzapspecavomatica, Travers+ and others).
The purpose of participation of our enterprises in this Forum is to establish
new contacts and to receive new opportunities for development of business.
Other purpose is to involve the investments in the creation of joint enterprises
in St.-Petersburg. The essential experience in this area was received by
our enterprises during 2004-2005 years within the realization of Russian-Finnish
project with Southeast Finland "SUBMET" (Subcontracting in metal working). |

23-25, 2006 Saint-Petersburg business contact centre BIZKON
together with consulting company “VIBOR”, Kouvola Administration and Anjalankoski
Administration organized the seminar concerning the attraction of Finnish
companies to the solving of St.Petersburg problems in the sphere of municipal-housing
services. The main topics of seminar:
- Reforms of municipal-housing services in Saint-Petersburg;
- Demonopolization of Management system in the sphere of municipal-housing
services;
- Possibilities of business companies in the sphere of municipal-housing
services.
More than 20 chiefs and experts from St.-Petersburg (Municipal-housing services
companies, Low companies, Institute "GIPROHIMTECHNOLOG", “LENVODPROJECT”,
"OBUHOVSKOE" etc.) took part in this seminar. |
